I tested to check the polling rate with evhz and it confirmed 1000Hz, which is really not what I end up seeing on the screen.

When I launch a game, the choppyness intensifies to around 3fps mouse movement while the game behind my mouse runs butter smooth. On kernel 5.4 this problem is gone, but my graphics card goes belly up, so that's not an option. My mouse (wired G502) is being slightly choppy on the desktop (tried with gnome and xfce installations) when using kernel 5.3.
